In Oregon, drivers are required to hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) when they operate school buses, passenger vehicles transporting 16 people or more (include driver), commercial vehicles that exceed a gross weight of 26,000 pounds, or haul hazardous materials in an amount requiring placarding.
Applicants must be sufficient of 18 years old to hold a CDL license and are allowed to drive a commercial vehicle within the state’s borders (intrastate). And drivers must be at least 21 years of age to drive a commercial vehicle across state lines (interstate).
You need to meet a few requirements before applying for a CDL license in Oregon. Firstly, you must already possess an Oregon driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
